Our occupational therapists help people of all ages lead a more productive, satisfying and independent life. We serve a large number of people who have to deal with a variety of challenges limiting their functionality. Daily activities define a person’s occupation and could include getting dressed, working a job, going to school and other day to day functions. Occupational therapy is often abbreviated as "OT" and it incorporates meaningful and purposeful occupation to enable people with limitations or impairments to participate in everyday life.
Occupational therapy helps with activities of daily living
Occupational therapy helps patients to adjust to illness or accident and learn to be as independent as possible by being able to perform activities of daily living (ADL), such as eating, personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting. Our trained and licensed therapists take into account a client or patient’s occupation, i.e. daily activities, their physical, mental and cognitive abilities, their environment and their functional needs and goals. Therapy is planned and delivered taking all this into consideration. We can also help with sourcing adaptations and tools that can make life easier for our patients.
We work with patients and their families and support networks to facilitate health and well-being through engagement or re-engagement in occupation. Not only do we assist people to maintain daily living and work skills, we continually strive to help individuals achieve as much independence as possible in their lives.
The goal of Visions Physical Therapy goes beyond helping clients improve basic motor functions, cognitive and emotional abilities to return to their daily roles. We work to help compensate for loss of function. Our team of physical therapists is dedicated to helping clients have independent, productive and satisfying lives.
